Shirley Shen is a hobbyist painter who currently resides in Brooklyn, NY. She studies at the New York Studio School and previously at the New York Art Students League.

With a bias towards plein air and intuitive painting, she integrates Buddhist beliefs around interconnectedness and impermanence into her artistic practice.

Shirley is inspired by the artistic works and approaches of Fairfield Porter, Richard Diebenkorn, Cecily Brown, Pierre Bonnard, and Zoey Frank.
